Microsoft isn’t making any money off me by letting me come and go so easily. When Starfield comes out I’ll re-sub for a month or two and play the game for $20-40 instead of buying it outright for $90+ CAD. Meanwhile I just jump in and out of Game Pass when something comes up I want to play then let it lapse when I don’t have anything interesting keeping me in the funnel. That’s less than the cost of two new games to get a whole year of the catalog plus all the free monthly games you get to claim into your account forever. If I went the monthly route for 12 months it would end up costing $250 or about the same as 12 months of Game Pass. I’m paying about $130 CAD (taxes in) for the full year of PS+ Extra.
